Garma was a transformative experience for everyone.
Our students participated in the event and had the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and the new Minister for Indigenous Australians, Malandirri McCarthy MP.

Our Deputy Principal, Alison Wunungmurra and proud Dhalwangu Yolnŋu woman from Gapuwiyak shared the stage with the Minister for Education Jason Clare on day one of the 2024 Garma Festival. The session focused on education initiatives in East Arnhem Land, with a new Dhupuma Studio School a priority for the community.
Alison spoke about her journey as an educator, the importance of culture and community at Studio Schools of Australia, and the power of learning to change lives. She shared the fact that the key drivers of success to our approach is building partnerships, sharing knowledge, and engaging with local communities. Watch her full speech here.
